was looking to replace their ageing Dell Storage array which was at full capacity and out of support and experiencing numerous disk failures. NIHR were using the storage array to store data, primarily an ORACLE database which is capturing data related to critical health research projects.
Dacoll worked with EMC and the client to size and scope a suitable replacement for the existing array. The client chose an EMC VNX 5200 storage array because of its resilience, performance and its scope for future growth. Initial sizing was done and discussed at length with NIHR.
The NIHR decided to work with Dacoll and EMC because of the commitment shown through the technical process and felt that Dacoll demonstrated a great level of commitment to understanding their needs and requirements.
NIHR also asked Dacoll to assist with the implementation of the new systems in the University of Leeds datacentre and Dacoll were responsible for the migration and configuration of the new EMC VNX array.
